Sambalpur: A woman was seriously injured after being attacked by her husband on the premises of a family court premises in Sambalpur.
The victim has been identified as Sanjita Choudhury. Her niece Shibani, a minor girl, and mother Lalita were also injured in the attack.
The trio was immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment. Sanjita was later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla after her condition deteriorated.
The accused identified as Ramesh Kumar has been arrested by police.
Sanjita was allegedly attacked with a sword by her husband on court premises where she came to attend proceedings of a case relating to a family dispute.
According to sources, Ramesh and Sanjita got married three months ago. Unhappy over some issue, Sanjita later went back home where she decided to divorce her husband. However, Ramesh had appealed to Sanjita to take her back. But after she did not return after even after several requests, Ramesh had filed a case pertaining to the matter.
