Woman Attempts Suicide After Strangulating Neighbour’s Son In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a woman tried to commit suicide after strangulating her neighbour’s minor son in Kolathia area under Khandagiri police limits in the Odisha capital on Wednesday.

According to reports, the woman had called the five-year-old boy to play in her house in the afternoon before strangulating him.

She then attempted suicide by hanging with a saree from the ceiling of her house. Some locals rescued her and informed police.

The woman was rushed to the AIIMS and her condition is critical.

The cause of the murder was not immediately known, but preliminary investigation has revealed that the woman was mentally unstable.

The father of the deceased said that his family had no enmity with the woman, whose husband works in AIIMS.
