Bhubaneswar: A woman attempted suicide in front of the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The woman has been identified as a resident of Nirakarpur area in Khurda district. She was later taken to Capital police station after being rescued by some passers-by, who suspected the woman to be mentally unsound.
According to sources, the lady attempted to end life by hanging herself from a tree, alleging that the police have failed to initiate any action on her grievances.
Police have started investigation into the matter. The woman is being questioned to ascertain the exact cause behind taking such an extreme step.
