Sundargarh: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband following a domestic dispute at a village in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Thursday.
As per information, the incident took place at Khuntijhari village under the jurisdict
ion of Hemagiri police station. The victim has been identified as Pushpa Dharwar, who was allegedly attacked by her husband, Makunda Dharwar, in an inebriated state inside their home.
Locals said Makunda—allegedly under the influence of alcohol—began quarrelling with his wife over a family matter. The argument escalated, and he is accused of repeatedly striking her with a stick, causing fatal injuries. Pushpa succumbed on the spot.
After getting information from villagers, a police team from Hemagiri visited the spot and launched an investigation. The accused has been detained and the victim’s body sent for post-mortem examination.
