Rayagada: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband at a village in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Friday.
Sources said the incident took place at D Karal village under the jurisdiction of Tikiri police station. The accused, identifies as Maliki Majhi, thrashed his wife Safai Majhi in a fit of rage following a verbal duel.
The two were stated to have entered into a heated argument over some issue after which the man allegedly killed his wife.
On being informed, a police team rushed to the site and seized the body which was sent for post-mortem.
The woman’s husband and two others have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. They are being questioned as part of the investigation.
Investigation is in progress and further details are awaited.
