Jharsuguda: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband on the suspicion of having an extramarital affair at a village in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district.

e incident took place at Ghunghuti village under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station in the district late on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Soudamini Kisan, aged around 28 years. Her husband Rahul Bag (28) has been detained by police for questioning.
Sources said the couple reportedly had a heated argument at their house on Saturday night.
During the altercation, Rahul, who suspected that Soudamini was involved in an extramarital affair with someone, attacked her with a wooden stick. The woman sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.
After receiving information about the incident, a police team visited the village on Sunday, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Rahul is being interrogated by the police in connection with the crime. Further investigation is underway.
