Malkangiri: A minor boy died after allegedly being beaten by his mother for stealing money in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
As per reports, eight-year-old Rohit Padiami of Tumbaguda village under Kalimela police station in the district had taken some money from his house without informing his mother Wagi Padiami two days back.
When Wagi asked Rohit about the money on Saturday night, he feigned ignorance. Agitated over it, Wagi accused him of telling lies and beat him up. As she kicked him on the chest, Rohit lost consciousness and fell down.
Later, Wagi’s neighbours came to know about it and came to her house. On checking Rohit, they found him dead.
On being informed, a team from Kalimela police station went to the village and sent the body for post-mortem. They also registered a case and detained Wagi for questioning.
The police along with a scientific team started investigation into the incident.
