Cuttack: A woman and her brother-in-law allegedly committed suicide at Kendupatna Khanda village under Salepur police limits in Cuttack district on Saturday. Their bodies were found hanging inside the woman’s house in the village.
On Friday night, a person called Bhanja Kishore Patra went to the woman’s house and stayed there overnight. At that time, the woman, a distant relative of Bhanja was in her bedroom.
However, doubting an illicit relationship between them, the other family members locked the door from outside and called the police.
When the police reached the spot, they found both the woman and Bhanja hanging from the ceiling fan.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem and investigation into the incident has also started, informed a police officer.
Meanwhile, Bhanja’s father has lodged a complaint in the Salepur police station alleging that his son was murdered by the woman’s family members.
