Baripada: A woman allegedly buried her newborn soon after delivery at Dhipasahi under Sarat police station limits in Mayurbhanj district.
According to available information, the woman identified as Masuri Singh was at her parent’s house where she gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday night. However, she reportedly buried the child in a nearby cow-dug pit soon after delivery.
The matter came to the light when police reached the village after some villagers complained of foul smell emanating from the area. Cops later recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
The woman’s husband Hundu Singh, who arrived at the village to take her wife back to his house this morning, was informed about the incident by locals. Following which, he lodged a complaint with the local police regarding the same.
