Woman burnt alive in fire mishap

Puri: A woman was burnt alive and five houses were reduced to ashes after a major fire broke out in a house at Ramachandrapur village under Delang block in Puri district on Monday.
After being informed about the mishap, fire personnel rushed to the spot. It took them an hour to douse the flames.
The fire originated from an earthen lamp lit in a house and soon spread to the other the adjacent houses, a local resident said.
Property worth several lakhs of rupees was reportedly gutted in the fire.
Fire officials and police have started investigation to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
