Boudh: A woman candidate died due to overexertion during police constable interview at IRB’s 5th Battalion near Murshundi in Boudh district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Prabasi Nayak (22), a resident of Nuagaon block in Nayagarh district.
According to available information, Nayak fell unconscious after running for more than four kilometres during physical test for police constable interview conducted at the Battalion.
The woman was rushed to the district headquarters hospital, where she died.
Two other candidates, Kuna Nayak (22) of Dhenkanal district and Pravat Sahu (23), a resident of Korada village under Harabhanga block in Boudh district, were also taken ill during the training. They are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A similar incident had taken place at a stadium in Keonjhar district on August 10 when a woman identified as Daayanti Behera fainted during a police constable interview.
She was admitted to the district headquarters hospital.
