Woman Charred To Death In Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A woman was charred to death in a major fire that razed her house located at Sheikh Sahi near Padambeda under Puruna Bazaar police limits in Bhadrak district late on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Subasini Khilar (40).

According to available information, Subasini was sleeping in her house alone when the fire broke out suddenly.

Receiving a call from the neighbours, fire personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames, but they failed the save the woman.

The woman’s body was recovered and later sent for post-mortem to the district headquarters hospital.

“Her husband was not present in the house when the mishap took place. However, the exact reason behind the fire incident is not yet known,” a local resident said.

Three rooms of the house were completely gutted by the time fire officials reached the place.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation into the matter.
