Woman charred to death in house fire at Kendrapada village

Kendrapada: A woman was charred to death after a massive fire broke out in her house at Deulipada village under Mahakalapada police limits in Kendrapada district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Diptimayee Das.

According to reports, the mishap occurred early in the morning around 5 am when the 26-year-old was fast asleep. She couldn’t escape and was burnt alive inside the house.

Noticing thick smoke billowing out of the house, the neighbours informed the fire bridge, which rushed to the place and doused the flames. Two rooms rooms were gutted and property worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes.

The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained, reports added.
