Khurda: The bodies of a woman and her one-year-old daughter were found on the railway tracks near Tangi in Khurda district on Sunday.
Some villagers from Abhimanpur first spotted the bodies early in the morning and alerted Tangi police. Following this, a police team reached the spot and sent the bodies for post mortem.
The identities of the deceased were not yet known till reports last came in.
Police said the duo died due to a collision with a train. However, an investigation is underway to ascertain whether it is a case of suicide or murder, police added.
