Girl Commits Suicide In Angul After Intimate Videos Go Viral

Angul: Police are on the hunt for a youth of Talcher in Odisha’s Angul district in connection with the alleged suicide by a 19-year-old girl of Bantala on Thursday night.

According to sources, the girl took the extreme step after the youth allegedly posted some of her intimate videos on the social media.

The deceased reportedly came in contact with the youth on social media. Gradually they became close through chatting and sharing of videos. Taking the opportunity, the youth started blackmailing the girl and threatening to post her intimate videos and chats on the social media. When the woman did not stoop to his demand, the youth posted them on social media.

The incident took place on Thursday when some locals arrived at the house of the girl in the afternoon and informed her family members about her videos that had gone viral.

Fearing shame and humiliation, the woman drank poison. When the family members came to know about this, they rushed her to the district headquarters hospital where she died in the night.
