Puri: Two persons, including a woman police personnel, were killed and another sustained critical injuries when a motorcycle they were riding dashed against a truck near Sakshigopal in Odisha’s Puri district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the three were proceeding towards Sakhigopal after attending a funeral at Swargadwar in Puri in the afternoon when their bike hit a fertilizer-laden truck on the Puri-Bhubaneswar Jagannath Sadak, killing two on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Sushama Mishra (42), a police Constable, and Suryakanta Sahu. Sushama’s son was critically injured in the accident. Sushama, who hailed from Gopalpurpatna village in Satyabadi area, was posted at Konark.
The injured was first rushed to the Sakshigopal hospital for treatment and later shifted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar as his condition deteriorated, the sources added.
