Woman Constable Attacked By Landlord’s Son Succumbs At Burla Hospital

Sambalpur: The woman constable, who was critically injured after being attacked by her landlord’s son on September 24, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as Rasmirekha Dixit was posted at Sambalpur Town police station.

Rasmirekha and her sister were attacked with a sharp weapon by Sapan Chakraborty in his house at Danipalli village under Ainthapali police limits in the district.

The duo was rushed to VIMSAR in a critical condition.

They were attacked for allegedly misbehaving with their relatives, who had gone to visit Sapan’s house on Viswakarma Puja.

Following in the incident, police had arrested the accused.
