Woman Cop Missing Case: Father Hints At Possible Involvement Of Colleague

Bhubaneswar: While woman traffic constable Subhamitra Sahoo (25) is yet to be traced after her sudden disappearance from Odisha capital, her father has hinted at possible involvement of a youth, serving with the Commissionerate Police here.

Duryadhan Sahoo alleged that his daughter, who served at the DCP (traffic) office, was last seen with him at a temple. “I believe questioning the youth, who work in the accounts section at the Police Commissioner’s office, could lead to a significant breakthrough,” he said.

He also sought assistance from the constable and havildar association in the search for his daughter.

While initial investigation suggested that she might have been troubled by personal or family matters, Duryadhan emphasised that she had no family or work-related issues. “We are deeply concerned for her safety. She had no problems at home or her workplace,” he said, while questioning the delay in tracing her despite numerous CCTV cameras in Bhubaneswar.

Subhamitra went missing on September 6 from Surya Nagar. Her mother, Sukanti, lodged a missing complaint at Capital police station the following day.

According to police sources, the woman constable reported for duty at 10 am on the day she went missing. However, she did not return home after her shift ended at 7 pm. The efforts to trace her were hindered since she left her mobile phone at her rented home in Surya Nagar. Her call detail record and social media chats are being examined for potential leads.

Police have formed multiple teams to trace her and also announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 for any credible information about her whereabouts.
