Rayagada: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly stabbed his wife and critically injured her at Nadi Sahi village in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Sunday.
The woman, identified as Basanti Behera, has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.
As per preliminary reports, a heated argument cropped up between accused Pradeep Behera and his wife Basanti over some issues. In a fit of rage, Pradeep allegedly picked up a sharp weapon and brutally attacked Basanti.
While Basanti sustained multiple injuries on the stomach and hand, her husband reportedly ran away after committing the crime. Locals rushed the woman to the hospital immediately where she is currently undergoing treatment.
On getting information, a police team reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
However, the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained. Efforts are on to trace the accused.
