Woman, Daughter Die In Wall Collapse In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A woman and her daughter were crushed under the wall of their house at Kenalpada in Sambalpur district on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Chahala Pradhan and her daughter Bhagya Pradhan.

Chahala’s son, grandson and granddaughter, who got trapped under the wall, were later rescued by neighbours. They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to Burla hospital after their condition deteriorated.

Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and started inquiry.

All members of the family were sleeping when the portion of a wall of their house collapsed and fell on them following heavy rainfall, police sources said.
