Cuttack: A woman died and 4 others were critically injured after a cement-laden truck collided with a car and plunged off Kuakhai bridge near Trisulia in Odisha’s Cuttack district late on Tuesday.
The injured- two women and drivers of both vehicles- have been admitted to SCB Medical Collage & Hospital here.
According to sources, the accident took place around 2-2.30 am when crew members of an Odia serial were returning to Bhubaneswar in a car after a shoot and the truck, coming from the opposite direction, rammed into it and fell off the bridge as the driver lost control over the wheels.
On being informed, Fire Service personnel reached the spot, rescued the injured and recovered the body. Among the injured, condition of two women with head injuries is stated to be critical.
Police have started an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
