Nabarangpur: A woman reportedly died due to wrong treatment by a quack in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Monday.
As per reports, the woman, identified as Dayamani Bisoi (55) of Chirma village under Kosagumuda block of the district, felt sick with complaint of headache in the morning. Her husband Buxi Bisoi took her to the quack Samaru Harijan in Karchamal village.
Harijan examined Dayamani and administered an injection to her. Some time after taking the injection, the condition of Dayamani worsened. Before Buxi could take her to a doctor, she died in the house of Harijan.
Panicked by Dayamani’s death, the quack allegedly tried to suppress the matter by offering some money to Buxi not to disclose the incident to anybody.
But Buxi called up his younger brother who informed their relatives. Later, in consultation with their relatives, Buxi filed a complaint at Kodanga police station alleging that administration of wrong injection by Harijan led to Dayamani’s death.
Police went to Harijan’s house and started investigation. But they had not arrested him till the report was filed.
