Woman Dies As Car Rams Motorcycle While Dropping Son At School In Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: A woman was killed while her husband and son had a close shave after a car hit their motorcycle near Pankapal on Cuttack-Paradip Road in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Monday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Jhili Majhi, a resident of Indira Colony at Janapal village under Pankapal gram panchayat.

According to sources, the accident took while Jhili along with her husband Sumant Behera (40) were on their way to drop their five-year-old son Ayush at school this morning. The car rammed into the motorcycle in front of Pankapal High School. Jhili died as locals rushed them to Manijanga Community Health Centre. Suman and his son were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.

While the accident sparked an outrage, police soon reached the spot and placated the locals. They also seized the car. The driver, however, managed to escape.
