Bhawanipatna: A woman reportedly died after her house collapsed following heavy downpour at a village in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
Sources said the incident took place at Harekrushnapur village under the jurisdiction of Lanjigarh police station in the district as kutcha house collapsed after incessant rain late on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Banita Parabhoi. The mishap took place when she was preparing food in the kitchen.
The woman was rescued by villagers and rushed to Lanjigarh hospital for treatment. She was later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bhawanipatna as her health condition deteriorated further. However, the doctors referred her to a Visakhapatnam hospital, but she passed away while being shifted in an ambulance.
