Woman Dies Within 15 Minutes Of Son’s Death In Odisha’s Balasore

Sajanagarh:  Unable to bear the death of her son, a woman died just 15 minutes after her son breathed his last late on Sunday night. The incident took place at Balichua village of Garadihi panchayat under Nilgiri tehsil’s Berhampur police limits in Balasore district.

Belamani Singh’s son Rabindra Singh had been undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment at the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). His condition started deteriorating in the last few days and doctors advised Belamani to shift him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Not able to afford the shifting, Belamani and Rabindra’s wife Janaki took Rabindra back home on April 24.

Rabindra died late on Sunday night. Belamani, who was sitting beside her son at the time of his demise, could not bear the shock. She collapsed and lost her consciousness before breathing her last.

Rabindra is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son. Villagers have urged the local administration to provide financial assistance to the bereaved poor family.
