Malkangiri: A woman drowned after a boat ferrying a couple capsized in Balimela reservoir in Odisha’s Malkangiri district. The body was recovered by Fire Service personnel on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Moti Golari.
According to sources, the couple was returning home from Dhakadpadar on a country boat when it capsized due to a sudden storm on Wednesday afternoon. While the boat sank into deep waters, the husband, identified as Arjun Golari, managed to swim back to the shore.
On being informed, Chitrakonda police along with firefighters reached the spot and launched a search operation. The body of the woman was later fished out of the reservoir and sent for postmortem.
