Woman Drowns Her Minor Daughter In Pond

Jajpur: In a gruesome incident, a woman allegedly killed her four-year-old daughter by drowning her in pond at Mugapala village under Kuakhia police limits in Jajpur district on Sunday.

The accused identified as Barsha Behera was detained by police basing on a complaint lodged by the victim’s uncle.

“Some of the locals suspect the accused to be a mentally ill person, while others said she took the step over a family feud. However, an investigation will help uncover the actual incident. The woman is being interrogated”, a police officer informed.
