Woman Ends Life By Setting Self Ablaze In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A woman allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze in Simulia area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Kabita Patri (50) of Markona Chhak under Simulia block.

Though the exact reason behind the extreme step taken by the woman is yet to be ascertained, it was suspected that family feud might have led to the incident.

Sources said, Kabita poured kerosene on her body and set afire when her son and daughter-in-law were out of station. Though a differently-abled daughter of the woman was in the house, she could not come to her rescue.

By the time her neighbours came to her rescue, her condition had turned  critical. Kabita was admitted to Simulia community health centre (CHC).  Later, she was being shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. But she succumbed on the way, the sources added.
