Balasore: The body of a woman Junior Engineer (JE) was found hanging under mysterious conditions from a locked house in Bhograi area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
Sources said the deceased, identified as Monalisa Hembrum, had been staying in a rented accommodation near the Thana Chhak locality of Bhograi for the last six months.
The body was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside the room in the morning.
While the incident appeared to be a case of suicide, the exact reason behind the death of the woman will be ascertained only after a thorough investigation, police said.
On being informed, a team of police personnel visited the site and launched an investigation. While steps were taken to send the body for autopsy, forensic team also examined the site.
Officials said the woman, who hailed from Baripada, had had joined her duty only six months ago. She had attended her work and meetings as usual and did not appear to be upset, they said.
