Cuttack: The social stigma attached to COVID-19 reportedly led a woman to flee a care centre in Odisha’s Cuttack.
According to sources, the woman was admitted to the Balikuda COVID care centre after she tested positive for the virus.
On Tuesday morning, the woman gave the centre’s authorities a slip and fled the centre. However, the alert caretakers immediately noticed that she was missing and launched a search.
Minutes later, they found her sitting along a road near the centre and was brought back.
Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani said he will find out about the case and take appropriate action.
