Days after a bride in India was seen glued to his cellphone, engrossed in online mobile game PUBG at his own wedding while his bride looked helplessly, an Emirati woman has filed for divorce as her husband used to stop her from playing the game, reports The Hush Post.
Social Center at Ajman Police director Captain Wafa Khalil, who is handling the case, said, “The lady said she was being deprived of choosing her means of entertainment. She said she had a sense of pleasure and comfort from the game.”
The woman went to the police station seeking help after a fight with her husband. “It was well within the limits, she said, adding that she didn’t open the chat option where she could have talked to strangers. Moreover, she said that she was playing the game with her friends and relatives,” said Captain Al Hosani, giving more information about the case.
The husband stopped her from playing the game because he feared she’ll soon become addicted to it. He said his efforts were to keep his family together. He also added that he never thought his wife would ask for divorce.
In the video that went viral in India, the groom was seen so engrossed in the game that he was not even looking over to see what was happening at his own wedding, despite the loud music in the background. He even pushed away a wedding gift given by a relative as it was blocking his phone view. In the entire video, the bride was seen looking at the phone quietly.
