Ganjam: A woman Forest Guard, Bishnu Priya Das of Pipalpanga, under Sorada Range PS, Sorada District Ganjam was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe on Wednesday.
She was caught by officers of Vigilance Berhampur Division while receiving Rs. 10,000 from Gangana Mandal of village Dhaugam, PS- Sorada through her office night watchman Ganesh Patra, of village Pipalpanga in lieu of not forwarding him and his son Joseph Mandal, in a forest case.
The money was recovered from the nightwatchman. Berhampur Vigilance PS has registered a case in this connection. Further details are awaited.
