Sambalpur: A woman forest guard of Sambalpur Sadar range was trapped by Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 36,000 for approving a bill.
According to sources, Madhusmita Mohapatra, who is also the member secretary of Beherani Basa Vana Surakhya Samiti (VSS), had demanded the bribe money from VSS treasurer Parsuram Mirdha for passing bills, vouchers and muster rolls for construction of VSS building and plantation at Beherani Basa village by the members of the VSS under OFSDP scheme.
Her office room and rented house at Sambalpur are now being searched.
