Woman Found Dead In Puri-Okha Express

Berhampur: The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized the body of a woman from a compartment of Puri-Okha Express at the Berhampur Railway Station on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sujata Swain of Bangarada village under Gangapur police station limits of Bhanjanagar block in Ganjam district.

According to police, the deceased was staying with her husband Krushna Swain in Surat in Gujarat district. But as her health deteriorated, the husband decided to admit her in the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

While the couple was on the way to Berhampur on Friday, Sujata succumbed to her illness inside the train compartment about 7 pm

After the train arrived at Berhmapur station in the morning on Saturday, the husband and his family members brought the body out of the compartment and kept it outside the railway station.

However, the GRP personnel detained the man for interrogation to get the details regarding the death of his wife.
The interrogation was underway till reports last came in.
