Woman Found Hanging From Tree In Kandhamal

Phulbani: A woman was found hanging from a custard apple tree at Sainipada Sahi in Kandhamal district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Rangabati Behera, wife of Narayan Behera.

The woman’s body was spotted by some passerby around 15 metres away from her house.

On being alerted, a team of Phulbani town police rushed to the spot, seized the body and sent it to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy.

The family members of Rangabati alleged that she was murdered by the family of a girl with whom the woman’s son was in love. They claimed that the family members of the girl hailing from Ganjuguda village under Sadar police limits in the district were opposed to her relationship with the youth since long and eliminated him.

Meanwhile, the locals also demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against the guilty.
