Woman Found Hanging From Tree In Odisha Forest, Son Alleges Murder

Angul: In a shocking incident, a woman was found hanging from a tree in a forest near a village in Pallahara area of Odisha’s Angul district on Monday.

As per sources, the incident took place near Mahalapasi village of Shikar Panchayat under the jurisdiction of Pallahara police station. The deceased has been identified as Gurubari Nayak (52), wife of Dharanidhar Nayak.

Locals spotted the body hanging from a mango tree about 50 metres from the main road and immediately alerted the police after identifying her. A team from Pallahara police station rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Gurubari’s son, Biren Nayak, lodged a police complaint, alleging foul play in his mother’s death. He alleged that his mother was murdered

Police officials said the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the autopsy report is received.

Preliminary reports suggest that Gurubari’s husband had reportedly been living separately for lase several years with no contact with the family. Villagers said the woman worked as a domestic help in nearby households for sustenance.
