Bhubaneswar: In another case of reported suicide, an unmarried woman was found hanging inside an apartment in Odisha capital on Thursday.
According to sources, the woman, identified as Sujata Rath, was running a printing press and staying in the apartment at Atala under Pahala police limits. While her parents were staying in the same apartment, she was staying in a separate flat with a man in a live-in relationship.
Three days back, Sujata’s live-in partner had gone to attend a friend’s marriage. While he had not returned on Thursday, Sujata took the extreme step.
On being informed, a team from Pahala police station reached Sujata’s apartment and recovered the body. They have sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case of unnatural death. Further investigation is on.
Though the cause of alleged suicide by Sujata has not been confirmed, the sources said the last call received on her mobile phone was from her live-in partner.
It may be noted that an engineering student was found hanging in a rented room in Punama Gate of Bhubaneswar on September 18 and a Plus II first-year student of a private college under Info Valley police limits was found hanging inside his hostel room in Gangapada on September 13.
