Woman Found With Throat Slit In Odisha’s Cuttack City; Neighbour Absconding



Cuttack: A woman was found dead with her throat slit in her house at Potapokhari of Gandhipalli locality in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Priyatama Dalei.

It is being alleged that her neighbour, Santosh Kumar Sinha, attacked her with a paniki (traditional vegetable cutter) ove

r a dispute and then fled.

“There was a dispute between the neighbours over a fence between the two houses. Santosh had recently threatened the woman with dire consequences. The matter took a violent turn today when the accused in a fit of rage attacked her with a paniki, leaving her critically injured. Though she was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital, doctors there declared dead,” ACP, Zone-I, Cuttack, Arun Kumar Swain told the media.

The ACP added that the woman was alone at home when the incident took place. “We have formed a team to trace and apprehend the accused,” he added.
