Cuttack: A young woman reportedly jumped into the Mahanadi off Mundali bridge near Banki on Saturday evening.
According to available information, the woman parked her scooter on the bridge and jumped into the river.
Police informed that she belongs to Bhubaneswar, but refused to reveal her identity, which they could ascertain from the identification card recovered the vanity bag she left on the scooter.
Meanwhile, Barang police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and started a rescue operation to trace the missing woman, sources added.
