Berhampur: A woman from Kerala was found dead in a lodge under Baidyanathpur police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday night.
The deceased’s name as her the lodge’s register was Abdul Paripalip and she was around 40-45 years of age.
According to staff of the lodge, the woman and a man, named Samsan S, checked into the lodge on November 19. An employee of the lodge went to the room for cleaning work on Saturday morning but got no response from inside the room despite repeated knocks at the door. Suspecting foul play, Baidyanathpur police was informed, which then broke open the door in the evening and found the woman lying dead.
It is being suspected that the woman might have died a couple of days ago. The man, however, was found missing.
“We are investigating the case from various angles. A dog squad along with a scientific team will go to the spot for further investigation,” said the IIC of Baidyanathpur police station.
