Woman Gangraped By Three Men On Pretext Of Job In Jajpur

Jajpur: A woman was allegedly gangraped on the pretext of job at Panikoili in Jajpur district.

The three accused were identified as Rabindra Mallick, Lala Mallick and Honey Rout.

According to available information, the woman, hailing from Kuakhia, was staying at Brahmabarada here after getting estranged from her husband. She had come to meet her relatives at Korei to request them to arrange a job for her.

After she got off the bus at Panikoili on Friday evening, the accused approached her and asked her for the purpose of visit. They then promised her a job in a vehicle showroom.

When the woman agreed to accompany them, they took her to a secluded place and allegedly raped her. Later, they dumped on the roadside and threatened not to disclose the matter.

Some locals spotted the woman crying for help on Saturday morning and informed Korei police about the same.

Police rescued the woman and sent her for medical examination.

The victim, in her statement, alleged that the three gang-raped her, dumped her on the road and took away Rs 8,000 from her.
