Woman Hacks 20-Day-Old Son, 4 Years After Killing Daughter In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A woman allegedly hacked her 20-day–old son to death at a village in Telkoi area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday.

Then incident took place at Namkani Juang Sahi of Bimla panchayat under the jurisdiction of Telkoi police station in the district. The accused woman has been identified as Laxmi Juang (35), wife of Guru Juang.

According to sources, Laxmi hacked the baby boy to death with an axe after smearing sindoor on his head. Her husband rushed to the spot after hearing the noise only to find the baby lying in a pool of blood.

On being informed, police rushed to the site and apprehended the woman. While it is suspected that the woman was suffering from psychiatric disorder, police have launched an investigation into the incident.

As per locals, Laxmi had allegedly killed her one-year-old daughter around four years ago by drowning her in water. She had been arrested and sent to jail. She came out of jail later and was living with her husband.
