Cuttack: In a shocking death, a woman health worker on duty was stabbed to death by her husband inside a school premises in Nialai block of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Wednesday.
According to sources, Priti Pradhan of Athagarh area was working as a health worker in a community health centre (CHC) at Mahidharpada in Niali block.
On Wednesday, the health worker was on duty at the Primary School at Mahidharpada for the vaccination of pregnant women when her husband Ashok Sahu suddenly barged into the room and stabbed her repeatedly with a sharp knife killing her on the spot.
Some locals, who were present at the spot, overpowered Ashok and informed the local police.
Following information, the Niali police rushed to the spot and arrested Ashok.
While the reason behind the murder was not immediately known, the police said that the details will be known after the interrogation of the accused.
