Woman Held Captive & Gangraped Repeatedly In Odisha’s Rourkela; 2 Labourers Arrested

Rourkela: Two labourers were arrested for allegedly raping a young woman for several days by holding her captive in Odisha’s Rourkela.

According to sources, the two daily wagers were arrested by the Plant Site Police based on the statement of the woman.

The accused reportedly brought the woman, also a daily labourer, from Bonai and put her in a hotel in the steel city, where they allegedly committed the crime, sources said.

The woman was held captive for several days and repeatedly gangraped by the two. The accused later abandoned the victim and disappeared, police said.

The woman was roaming near Rourkela railway station when police personnel rescued her. The victim narrated her ordeal to the police. Police later took her for medical examination and launched an investigation. The victim was later sent to Sakhi Centre.

Both the accused were arrested on the basis of the statement made by the woman.
