Pune: Netizens were outraged and angered after a video of daredevil Pune youths went viral on Thursday.
Many tagged police and urged them to take action based on the video which showed a boy and a girl risking their lives by doing a dangerous stunt to shoot a video for Instagram reel.
The woman, identified by police as 23-year-old Minakshi Salunkhe, is seen dangling from the top of a dilapidated building as Mihir Gandhi, 27, holds her hand from above while a third person records their ‘action’.
Late on Thursday, Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station traced Minakshi and Mihir, and arrested them for performing a potentially deadly stunt, an official said.
The third person, who was capturing the reel, is absconding.
“After we got information about the video, we launched investigations and managed to trace them. They were summoned to the police station late last night and placed under arrest. We have charged them under IPC Section 336 and other sections,” IANS quoted Senior Inspector Dashrath Patil as saying.

However, since it’s a minor offence with a jail term of less than six months plus a fine or both, they won’t be remanded to custody for long, added Patil.
Taking selfies and making reels without realising the risk involved has become an extremely worrying trend among the youths. Numerous fatalities have been reported, but the youngsters don’t seem to learn.
