Woman Jumps Before Moving Train With 2 Minor Daughters In Odisha’s Berhampur

Berhampur: A woman died after allegedly jumping before a moving train with her two minor daughters near Berhampur railway station on Friday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Rama Bhanja, a native of Machhakot village near Seragad in Ganjam district.

According to sources, she had a dispute with her husband Utsav Bhanja. Following an argument, Rama with her daughters Riya (6) and Priya (11) came to Berhampur from his village and jumped before the moving train this morning.

The Railway Police rescued mother and daughters in a critical condition and admitted them to a hospital.

Rama died while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Rama’s family members lodged a police complaint against her husband, following which, the Railway Police detained him for interrogation.

Investigation into the matter is on.
