Cuttack: A man turned out to be the saviour for a woman, who allegedly attempted suicide by jumping into the Mahanadi off Jobra Bridge in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Thursday afternoon.
According to sources, Babuli Behera, who works at a park adjacent to the Mahanadi barrage, jumped in and the rescued the woman within 5 minutes. Even as they held onto the iron gates of the barrage, Forest Service personnel reached the spot and brought the woman up with the help of a rope ladder. She was then taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for treatment.
Police identified the woman as a resident of Choudwar with two children. Investigation revealed that she was disturbed due to family dispute.
