Woman Jumps Into Mahanadi River In Odisha, Rescue Operation On

Jagatsinghpur: A young woman allegedly jumped into Mahanadi river from a bridge in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Thursday.

As per preliminary information, the woman went missing after jumping into the river from the bridge located under Tritol police station area of Jagatsinghpur district.

While the exact reason behind the extreme step taken by the young woman was yet to be ascertained, locals said she was suspected to have jumped into the river after getting information that her boyfriend had allegedly committed suicide.

On being informed, fire services personnel reached the spot and is launched a search and rescue operation.

Police have also initiated an investigation into the incident as efforts were underway to trace the young woman.
