New Delhi: A 33-year-old woman, holding her six-month-old daughter, jumped from the 16th floor of her apartment in Greater Noida.
A loud noise was heard outside Tower 2 of La Residentia Society late on Wednesday night.
Security guards rushed to the spot to find the woman, identified as Sarika, and her daughter lying in a pool of blood. Both had succumbed to injuries before they could be taken to the hospital.
The security team informed police, who took control of the bodies after arriving at the scene which falls under the jurisdiction of Bishrakh area police station.
The bodies were sent for post-mortem on Thursday.
Relatives of the deceased told police during the ongoing inquiry that Sarika had been suffering from an illness and was undergoing treatment for depression.
