Nabarangpur: A woman was killed and two others seriously injured in lightning strike in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Sunday.
As per reports, the three women of Tendakaguda village under Jharigaon block in the district had gone to work in the crop field in the morning. While they were working, it became cloudy and started raining.
As the trio were returning home hurriedly, thunderstorm along with lightning struck the area. They had almost reached their village, when lightning struck women. One of them, identified as Nabina Bhatra died on the spot and two others sustained injuries.
The villagers admitted the injured women in community health centre at Umerkote. Their condition was stated to be stable. The police have sent the body of Nabina for post-mortem and registered a case of unnatural death.
